Michael McQuarrie conducts research on urban governance and community-based organizations and, in particular, they ways the respond to state-spatial rescaling and emergent modes of citizen organization. More topically, He explores the changing nature of urban political authority and the construction and institutionalization of new governance arrangements. He is preparing a manuscript on community development organizations and is researching the field of community organizing and regionalist governance arrangements.
