Wolfgang Pietsch

Research Assistant, Philosophy of Science, Technical University of Munich

Wolfgang Pietsch is research assistant in philosophy of science at Technische Universität München, Germany. He began his academic life studying physics in Berlin and Toulouse. After a brief stint in science writing, he went on to write a PhD in philosophy at Universität Augsburg on the philosophical and physical foundations of the arrow of time. His main areas of research are scientific method as well as the history and philosophy of fundamental ideas in science, especially space, time, and probability. Wolfgang contributes to the Poesis project his interdisciplinary background as well as a thorough understanding of some of the basic concepts providing the physical and epistemological framework of any systematic engagement with cities.
